Annual capital investment in energy transition metals has averaged $45 billion over the last two decades, compared with the $70 billion required each year until 2030 to expand supply.Up to 6.5 billion tonnes of materials will be needed between 2022 and 2050 for the energy transition, with steel, copper and aluminium accounting for 95% of this, the ETC estimates.
